Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 6 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Macau Macau (3-4) to fourth ranked Singapore Singapore S. (4-3) 88-81. It ended the three-game winning streak of Macau. Singapore S. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Macau's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Singapore S. made 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Xavier Alexander (196-1988, college: S.Nazarene) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was DeQuan Abrom (188-1996, college: Belm.Abbey) with 24 points and 6 assists. Singapore S. maintains fourth position with 4-3 record. Macau at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Singapore S. are looking forward to face Louvre S. (#7) in Surabaya in the next round. Macau will play at home against Valientes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very significant was Hong Kong HK Eastern's (#1) 89-82 road victory against second-best Vietnamese Heat. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Canadian center Chris McLaughlin (208, college: Victoria) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Dominic Gilbert supported him with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 24 points by American JR Holder (198-1994, college: Jacksonville) did not help to save the game for Heat. HK Eastern maintains first position with 6-1 record. Defending Vietnamese champion Heat keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with NS Matrix. HK Eastern will play against NS Matrix (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Heat will play against Valientes in Zamboanga City and hopes to get back on the winning track.

NS Matrix's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Kentrell Barkley who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists. NS Matrix have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Malaysian champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Saigon Heat. Loser Singapore S. keeps the fourth position with three games lost. NS Matrix will meet league's leader HK Eastern in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Singapore S. will play against Louvre S. in Surabaya and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 6 bottom-ranked Tigers won against Louvre S. on the opponent's court 88-84. Bottom-ranked Tigers lost to Vietnamese defending champion Saigon Heat in a home game 73-89.

They outrebounded Heat 37-15 including a 28-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. HK Eastern players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Heat's players. Canadian center Chris McLaughlin (208, college: Victoria) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Croatian-Australian swingman Dominic Gilbert (198, college: UBC, agency: BIG) supported him with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 24 points by American JR Holder (198-1994, college: Jacksonville) did not help to save the game for Heat. His fellow American import forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) added 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Heat players scored in double figures. Louvre S. - Tigers 84-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Surabaya where 7th ranked Indonesian Louvre S. (1-6) was defeated by bottom-ranked Thailand Tigers (1-7) 88-84 on Sunday. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jose Nouchanthavong (187, college: S.Maine) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Takamin Sirijariyaporn (181-1997) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Nouchanthavong is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Tigers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American Marcus Hammonds (196-1987, college: TAMUCC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and American-Indonesian Jamarr Johnson (198-1988, college: Widener) added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Tigers maintains eighth position with 1-7 record. It was Louvre S.'s fifth loss in a row. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Louvre S. will play against Singapore S. (#4) and hope to win that game.

They outrebounded Tigers 48-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American JR Holder (198-1994, college: Jacksonville) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import power forward Jeremy Combs (201-1995, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Heat players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jose Nouchanthavong (187, college: S.Maine) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Wuttipong Dasom (195-1991) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Vietnamese champion maintains second position with 5-2 record behind leader HK Eastern, which they share with NS Matrix. Tigers lost sixth consecutive game.
